Learning through play

Capers Early Learning provides a play-based learning program. It is through play that children make sense of their world and build knowledge based upon previous experience. The experiences at Capers are designed by our Teachers and Educators based on the children’s interests and skills levels. These opportunities are delivered in a safe, nurturing, friendly and fun environment, promoting children’s own learning.

Our Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, a National Early Years Curriculum which focuses on:

Children developing a strong sense of identity and wellbeing
Children becoming environmentally aware and responsible
Children developing a lifelong love of learning
Children making connections between current understandings and new knowledge
Children becoming confident learners and effective communicators

The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.

Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.
Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just to be, to play, to try new things and to have fun.
Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children form their sense of identity from an early age, shaping the adult they will become.

Bush Kindy

Capers Early Learning offers the opportunity to explore a Bush Kindy environment including a natural bush environment. Our Bush Kindy Program is nestled amongst stunning greenery and bushland in which our children have supervised access to explore and learn whilst taking considered risks in a safe environment. Nature play stimulates creativity, problem solving, helps builds confidence and supports emotional wellbeing.

Capers Early Learning offers the opportunity to explore a Beach Kindy. There are so many benefits to our Beach Kindy Program including helping to stimulate children's immune system, increasing the opportunity for exercise and physical activity, fuelling their imagination and improving language skills and importantly also allows the children to connect to our beautiful land.
