Kia ora (Hello)
My name is Heather, I am the Assistant Manager and Educational Leader at our Northgate Centre! My husband and I have recently moved to Brisbane from New Zealand with our two children, as well as our two fluffy dogs, Scout and Murphy.
I have been working in the Early Childhood industry for the past 10 years, having been lucky enough to work in New Zealand, Brisbane (back in 2017), Vancouver, and now coming full circle back to Brisbane. I am very excited to be on this new chapter of my career with the amazing children, families and teachers at Capers Early Learning Northgate.
What I love most about working at Capers Early Learning is the incredible sense of community. Since joining the team, I’ve been able to build meaningful relationships with the children, families, and my colleagues. It’s rewarding to create a positive and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

I applied for the role at Capers Early Learning because I wanted to be part of a supportive and dynamic environment that values relationships and fun in early childhood education. Having previously worked in Brisbane, I was excited to return and contribute to a community where I could make a positive impact on children’s lives. The opportunity to work alongside dedicated educators and engage with families made this position a perfect fit for me.
Outside of my role at Capers Early Learning, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and our two fluffy dogs, Scout and Murphy. I love exploring the beautiful outdoors, whether it’s hiking or just enjoying a day at the park. Additionally, I like engaging in creative activities that allow me to unwind and connect with nature.
