I got my Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood) straight after I finished school and my first job was year 10 Maths and Science in a rural town. I then worked in Primary as a Year 6 teacher for many years before moving to Kindergarten when I relocated to the Sunshine Coast to have my children. I have had experience in a range of positions in Early Childhood including Teacher, Educational Leader, Centre Manager and most recently worked as a Kindy Uplift Advisor supporting services from Brisbane through to Rockhampton for the last 4 years.
Being able to provide support to teams and mentor them through collaboration and experience. I really love being able to see teams improve their practice and develop a deep understanding of pedagogy and practice.
Advocacy for the rights of children to have a safe, nurturing and magical childhood. Pedagogical practice that supports children’s voices, development and wellbeing in environments that support the whole child. Inclusion for all children, staff and families. Diversity and critical reflection and supporting teams to grow and develop a curiosity for their own pedagogical practice so that they can continuously improve quality care for children.
I love to run every day and stay active, I love to cook and I absolutely love to shop, travel with my family to other cultures and experience new things and connect with new people in other parts of the world. That is where the best learning and growth happens for my children.
